Trout is the primary species, but salmon and other fish have been known to traverse the waterways of Carlisle.
The only remnant of the lake’s origin serves as a giant beacon marking the spot: the former Carlisle Mill smokestack still towers above the site. A walking trail and boat launch are both open to the public at the lake.
Carlisle Lake is located at the north end of Alexander Road in Onalaska. A parking area is free for public use.
