Winlock Pickers' Festival includes instructional workshops, open mics, plenty of pickin' and grinnin', and organized kids activities! Check out the rest of the site to see details about the live bands, the workshop schedule, camping details, ticket info, links, and more.

The festival officially starts on Friday, but the jamming and camping begin on Thursday!

Nestled in a beautifully wooded area, Winolequa Park is conveniently located close to Interstate 5. Less than 2 hour's drive south of Seattle and an hour north of Portland, this gem of a pickers' fest is within close driving distance for plenty of great pickers who show up every year for it. And since the festival is put on by an all-volunteer staff, the price of admission is remarkably inexpensive.

Food is available on the premises from the Winlock Park Board starting at noon on Friday through Sunday Breakfast.

The Winlock Pickers' Fest is a labor of love created by a dedicated group of volunteers from the Washington Acoustic Music Association (WAMA) and co-sponsored by the Winlock Park Board.

The 2019 list of performers will include:

  • Richard Smith
  • The Portland Radio Ponies
  • Runaway Train
  • The Cowchips
  • Ash Creek

Cost is $15 per day or $25 per weekend per person. (WAMA members get a discount admission.)

Stumptown Swing takes audiences back to 1920's Paris, when gypsies with guitars, violins and upright basses made the leap from French musette to American "hot jazz" and kept Parisians dancing to this evocative new sound.

Tim Connell (mandolin and voice) and Mike Burdette (guitar) of Rio Con Brio formed Stumptown Swing after nearly a decade of playing pick-up gigs with Portland's best acoustic string musicians. They snapped up the hottest upright bass player in town, Keith Brush (Stolen Sweets, Pete Krebs Trio, Blue Cranes) and are proud to feature their long-time friend and collaborator, the absolutely pyrotechnic violinist, Ben Blechman.

Named after their hometown, Portland "Stumptown" Oregon, the quartet is closely associated with the network of Lindy Hop, Balboa and Swing Dance clubs that have made Portland a major center of the Swing Dance revival. They are in demand as a live band for the almost nightly swing dance events throughout Portland. In addition to Stumptown's thumping dance-oriented set, the group frequently performs a concert set featuring a wider variety of tempos and styles, appearing at both jazz and world music festivals.

Cost: $20.00 per person and you can buy your tickets HERE.

Location: Hope Grange 118 Antrim Road in Winlock

Everyone is invited, but space is limited, so order your tickets soon.
