Fairs

The Garlic Fest and Craft show got its start perched on Sunshine Hill with a view of Mount Rainier and the Chehalis River Valley in 2006. As the Garlic Fest participation and attendance grew so did the need for a larger location. Now located at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds the newly minted Washington State Garlic Fest is the largest gathering of garlicious eats and artisan crafts in Washington State.

Vendors from across the state and the nation bring their wares to the Fairgrounds for the 22nd Annual Garlic Fest, August 24th – 26th. 12-7 Friday 10-7 Saturday, 10-5 Sunday.

Come let the aroma of garlic, sounds of Dixie Land, and enticement of unique crafts make for a Garlicous Weekend!

The agricultural roots of Lewis County come front and center as just about every age group proudly shows a variety of animals from large livestock all the way to small birds. The midway lights up by night as crowds line up to be next on their favorite thrill ride, and the musical entertainment packs out multiple stages throughout the course of the week. Sample the food offerings from more vendors than you can shake a stick at. See the artful eyes and photography from people from around our region. And experience the excitement of the annual rodeo that packs the grandstands. The Southwest Washington Fair takes place Aug. 13-18, 2019. Well into its fourth decade of serving as Lewis County's unofficial leap from winter to spring, the Spring Youth Fair brings together youth from all over Lewis County and beyond to showcase their animals, enjoy games and rides, and much more. The Southwest Washington Fairgrounds come to life as young people and their families bring pigs, goats, cattle, horses and many more types of animals for show. A carnival also features as a centerpiece of the fair too! The Spring Youth Fair also features exhibits of art, photography, crafts, hobbies and more. The 2019 edition of the Spring Youth Fair starts Friday, May 3 at 5 p.m. If you want to show an exhibit, get a schedule of events or just find out more in general, visit the Spring Youth Fair website.
