The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce presents this annual parade that makes its way through the heart of downtown Chehalis, ending with an appearance from Father Christmas himself. Bundle up and bring the family on down to South Market Boulevard, because this event is completely free. Dozens of community groups, churches, businesses and organizations create floats for the parade that celebrates the holiday spirit in our communities.

Make this Valentines day something different with a nice romantic dinner on the Steam Train.

Our Annual Valentine Sweetheart Dinner Train runs on February  9, 10, 16, & 17 this year. This special treat dinner train is just the “ticket” for your special loved one. The train leaves the depot at 4:30 pm and travels up the Chehalis River Valley, all the while being served a four course dinner meal in our dining car. Enjoy this special occasion by taking this very unique trip back in time. Romance on the Rails! What could be better? Come join us.

The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad and Museum present  the "Santa Steam Trains" train ride. Our Santa Steam Trains are approximately 30 minutes long, with Santa visiting everybody during the train ride. Photo opportunities are available before and after each trip.

The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad and Museum present The Polar Express™ train ride and the short-hop Santa Steam Train. The Polar Express™ train rides feature the reading of the popular book "The Polar Express" during the trek to the North Pole, where Santa is picked up for the return trip. Each child will be given the first gift by Santa on the way back to the depot. Children are encouraged to come in their pajamas like in the movie. There will be cocoa and cookies provided on board, as well as singing and other entertainment. The train ride is approximately 1 hour. The Santa Steam Train is approximately 30 minutes long, with Santa visiting everybody during the train ride. Photo opportunities are available before and after each trip. The train cars are not heated so dress appropriately

Ballet Theatre of Washington will premiere their production of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker.

This full length version of the ballet will feature incredible costumes and the most accomplished young dancers in the area. Performances will be at the historic Liberty Theater, located at 413 N Tower in downtown Centralia.

There will be performances on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and there will be a special abridged version on Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.. This performance will be ideal for younger audience members. It will include special treats, a craft, and a chance to meet and take pictures with the characters from the ballet.

Summerfest brings people from all over Lewis County together for the area's largest Independence Day celebration, a day chock-full of fun for the entire family. Events include the annual I Ran From the Cops run/walk, free pancake breakfast at Fort Borst Park, demolition derby at the Fairgrounds, and more. Hay rides, tours of the Borst Home historical site, historical military displays and much more.
