Join us for a tour of the Lewis County Historical Museum, as the South Sound Paranormal Research team takes you through the museum after dark. Tour the museum’s attic, and main halls with detection equipment and flashlights in hand. Learn of the past events that have occurred at the museum, and possibly have one of your own.

The Lewis County Model Railroad Club is sponsoring their Fall Model Train Show and Swap Meet, 12-13 October 2019

As always, this is an all scales show with items from Z scale to G scale plus Tinplate, Toy Trains, and collectibles. Multiple operating layouts will be on display and probably LEGO Trains.

Over 160 tables available for sellers. We always sell out so reserve your table(s) early.

Saturday ONLY: Admission to the Lewis County Historical Museum, home of the Lewis County Model Railroad Club layout, is FREE. Our 15' x 52' layout will be open and operating for your viewing pleasure. Please come to the show first and then visit the museum before it closes at 4 PM. The museum is located next to the train tracks in downtown Chehalis, 599 NW Front Way.

The show is located at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds Blue Pavilion building.

2555 N. National Ave., Chehalis, WA 98532. Loads of FREE parking.

Admission is still just $5.00 per person. Children 10 and under free.
6' Tables $20 for both days of show.

Make this Valentines day something different with a nice romantic dinner on the Steam Train.

Our Annual Valentine Sweetheart Dinner Train runs on February  9, 10, 16, & 17 this year. This special treat dinner train is just the “ticket” for your special loved one. The train leaves the depot at 4:30 pm and travels up the Chehalis River Valley, all the while being served a four course dinner meal in our dining car. Enjoy this special occasion by taking this very unique trip back in time. Romance on the Rails! What could be better? Come join us.

Celebrate summer during ChehalisFest, a day filled with fun for the whole family. 

Activities kick off with a pancake breakfast and then an All-American hot dog barbecue lunch hosted by the Lewis County Historical Museum. The Backfire Band will perform and Bethel Church will host a KidZone with bouncy house favorites Downtown.  Book N' Brush will feature a Where’s Bigfoot scavenger hunt, and SWW ARTrails will feature an art sale and artists at work on the sidewalks.  Chehalis businesses will offer a variety of fun experiences and incredible sales and specials. Have fun with kids’ activities at ”Summer Play on Whitworth Way,” hosted by Westminster Presbyterian Church and find “Fun Around the Fountain” with the Salzer Valley Band at the Vernetta Smith Chehalis Timberland Library.  The Chehalis Volvo Roll-In is taking place at the Veterans Memorial Museum at 9am and the Chariots Car Club Car Show will display the best of the classics downtown at 9am.  At the Chehalis Airport from 9am-4pm, kids fly free with Young Eagle Flights (ages 8 - 17) and the Scrap Metal VW Club will host the Midway Meet Car Show at 10am.  The Port of Chehalis is giving away 200 free steam train ride tickets for July 28 & 29 that can be picked up beginning July 10 at the Lewis County Historical Museum.

ARTrails of Southwest Washington invites you to the Gala opening Reception on September 14th, 2018. This will be held at the Centralia’s Historic Train Depot from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. You will have the opportunity to meet artists and view exhibition gallery.

After the opening, you can start your Annual Studio Tour, bring your friends and plan spending a whole weekend driving through Southwest Washington while discovering historic communities, talk to artists, and explore their studios.

The King Agriculture Museum presents their 1st Annual Toy Show.

The event takes place on Saturday April 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost is $3 which gets you admission to the Toy Show and The Agriculture Museum (kids are free)

If you are interested in setting up as a vendor the cost is $15. There is no charge if you'd like to set up a display.

Join the Lewis County Historical Museum for their 6th Annual Evening with the Authors, featuring several authors from around Lewis County who will meet with everyone and sign copies of their books in a variety of subjects ranging from local history to fiction and childrens' books!

Participating authors include Jan Pierson, Karen Frazier, Lisa Brunette, Roy Wilson, Buddy Rose, Julie McDonald Zander, Jennifer Shaw Wolf, Connie Jasperson, Sarah Frase, Margaret Chambers, Pricilla Tiller, Debby Lee and many others.

Gift wrapping is also available by donation! This is a wonderful way to get the presents ready for the family after you're done shopping right here in Lewis County.

The event takes place Dec. 2, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. exclusively for historical society members, and 5:30 p.m. for the public.
