First-Ever Event Draws More Than 200 Cyclists
Pictures: Willapa Hills Trail Fat Tire Ride & Festival

From serious cyclists to families wanting to get out and enjoy a rural slice of life, the first-ever Willapa Hills Trail Fat Tire Ride & Festival provided a scenic ride for all who participated.

More than 200 people from across the Pacific Northwest gathered in Chehalis on Saturday, June 25, to take to the newly-opened 23-mile stretch of the Willapa Hills Trail to Pe Ell, where they would spend the night before returning the next day. People visited from such places as Tacoma, Seattle, Portland, Marysville, Olympia, Vancouver and even Astoria, Oregon!

The trail's relatively flat elevation profile between Chehalis and Pe Ell made the ride perfect for young children and people who didn't regularly ride a bicycle. Multiple water and food stops along the route coupled with the Tour De Farms, which itself included several farms and vendors, made the ride manageable during stretches of hotter weather.

Check our Facebook page in the coming days and weeks for more photos from the festival, but until then enjoy this gallery from the ride!
