Longmire Historic District

The first community you’ll see within the Mount Rainier National Park confines is Longmire, home to the National Park Inn, a ranger station, museum and much more.

Step back in time and view the park's nerve center from a historic perspective, as many of the buildings in Longmire make up the Longmire Historic District. Four of those buildings, including the National Park Inn, gift shop and Administrative Building, are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Stay a night at the National Park Inn, explore the museum and check out the gift shop! Also, several hiking trails originate from the Longmire area, including the popular Rampart Ridge.

For more on Longmire, visit the National Park website.
