Our cabin, sits (one fifth of a mile) off the privacy of the Cowlitz River and is only minutes to your favorite recreational activity. We are located just 2 miles east of Packwood and 17 miles ( 20 minute drive) from White Pass Ski area and 7 miles from the southeast entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park.
Wild Salmon Retreat is decorated with antiques and warmth, a spacious living area with skylights, and the bedrooms are attractively decorated with quilts and comforters promising you sweet dreams. There is a bedroom downstairs and an open loft area upstairs both with new queen beds.
Elk, deer, bald eagles and other wildlife who inhabit the area can be observed in the surrounding area. Take a 5 minute stroll to the Cowlitz River. Explore the beautiful hikes, waterfalls and meadows in Mt Rainier Park or experience local hiking trails depending on your fitness level.
WINTER brings snow covered trees and beautifully groomed trails that you can enjoy while snowshoeing, snowmobiling, skiing, or snowboarding. Only a short distance from Packwood, White Pass is a winter oasis where you can find all these activities and more. Building snow people, coming into a warm cozy fire, curling up with a great book, or soaking in the hot tub are all part of your experience.
SPRING/SUMMER brings river rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and just simply soaking in the glorious rays of the sun. For the adventurous types, a refreshing dip in the river is a few steps from your doorstep.
AUTUMN arrives with abundant colors as the leaves turn. Hikes along the Cowlitz River, or bicycling, are two enjoyable activities this time of year. Photographers love to capture the seasons in the valley, and autumn is a particularly delightful time.
