This short trail follows the lakeside of Coldwater Lake and contains numerous interpretive displays about how the lake was formed. It’s barrier-free and fully accessible to people with wheelchairs as well, and there are several boardwalks that offer pristine views of the lake’s beauty. Use this trail to get a good glimpse of the lake, and on a calm day watch the waters perfectly reflect the hills and mountains around the lake. Bonus points if you can point out Coldwater Peak! The Coldwater Lake recreation area, the starting point of the Birth of a Lake Trail, contains a picnic area, pet area and restrooms. It’s a great area to get out for a quick walk and enjoy a picnic lunch with the family or friends you arrived with!
