This hike is a relatively flat 1.3-mile course that takes people through a large old-growth forest. The trail and boardwalk are excellent for families with smaller children, who all still want to get outdoors and enjoy the park.
The trailhead is located at a parking area just on the northwest side of the Stevens Canyon entrance station.
In wintertime, this can be accessed by hiking in from State Route 123 and up a couple miles.
To get there, take U.S. Highway 12 just east of Packwood and head north on State Route 123. Turn left on Stevens Canyon Road and the parking area is nearby.
