The Lewis County PUD routinely stocks Lake Scanewa with trout, with the first big one of the year usually taking place in June.
The lake is also home to a very popular annual Kids’ Fishing Derby that draws families from across Lewis County and beyond.
With 399.4 acres of space, Scanewa is a great place to spend the day trying to catch one’s limit of trout — and you might even bag a salmon or steelhead, as the PUD has been known to stock those as well.
Scanewa is open to fishing June 1 to Feb. 28. Two parks offer boat launches and prime fishing access.
Lake Scanewa’s general location is just south of Glenoma. The Lewis County PUD operates two parks, one with a campground and another with a day use site.
