Black crappie, bluegill, brown bullhead, trout, chinook salmon, coastal cutthroat, coho salmon and smallmouth bass can all be found throughout the reaches of the lake, which was formed by the construction of Mossyrock Dam.
Riffe is a fisherman’s and outdoorsman’s delight, as camping and a boat launch are available at Mossyrock Park, providing convenient access to the lake with just a short walk.
Riffe is accessible from numerous areas, including the Tacoma Power-administered Taidnapam Park, which also offers a fishing bridge popular with families and children.
To get to Riffe Lake, take U.S. Highway 12 to Mossyrock. Several entry points to the lake are scattered along several miles of highway.
