If you’re looking for an authentic small-town festival experience this summer, make plans to attend Winlock Egg Day on June 20. This beloved Lewis County tradition brings together residents and visitors for a day packed with family fun, hometown pride, and activities that celebrate the community’s unique heritage.
Known for its connection to the poultry industry and home to the famous World’s Largest Egg, Winlock embraces its history each year with a festival that has become one of Lewis County’s most cherished traditions. Egg Day offers visitors a chance to experience the kind of community celebration that has become increasingly rare, a place where neighbors reconnect, families make memories, and visitors are welcomed with open arms.
The day kicks off bright and early with the Egg Day Run benefiting the Winlock Miller Elementary School Cross Country Team. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply want to enjoy a morning walk, all ages and skill levels are welcome. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the run starts at 9:00 a.m., with proceeds supporting local student-athletes.
Car enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Winlock Custom Car Show, presented by Small Acts of Kindness. Registration runs from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., with classic and custom vehicles on display from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on East Front and Fir Street.
Community vendors will fill the grounds beginning at 10:00 a.m., creating a lively marketplace where visitors can browse handmade goods, local products, food, and more. The annual Egg Day Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. and remains one of the festival’s most anticipated events, featuring community groups, local organizations, businesses, and plenty of small-town spirit.
Throughout the afternoon, families can enjoy a variety of activities. Watch the always-popular Chicken Races at 1:00 p.m. on the elementary school field, presented by Sacred Heart. Children and adults alike can test their skills on Mini Putt Golf or bounce around in Zorb Balls from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the elementary school gym.
Animal lovers will enjoy the Green Tree Python Reptile Road Show around 12:30 p.m. following the parade at the Community Building. Later in the afternoon, a young magician will take the stage for a free magic show at 1:30 p.m., with donations welcomed.
One of the things that makes Egg Day special is its authenticity. Unlike large festivals that can feel crowded and commercialized, Egg Day remains deeply rooted in community traditions. Local businesses, organizations, volunteers, and residents all play a role in bringing the celebration to life, creating an atmosphere that reflects the heart of small-town America.
The festival is also a perfect opportunity to explore Winlock itself. Visit local businesses, grab a bite to eat, snap a photo with the World’s Largest Egg, and discover the charm that has made this community a beloved stop for generations.
Mark your calendar for June 20 and experience one of Lewis County’s most treasured summer events. Come for the parade, stay for the activities, and discover why Winlock Egg Day continues to be a favorite tradition for families throughout Southwest Washington.
