The story of Carlisle Lake is an example of the good that can happen when a community comes together for a common goal! Once a mill pond, Carlisle Lake and the immediate area surrounding it has become home to brand-new salmon habitat. It’s also a haven for local birdwatchers too.
A brand-new nature trail is Onalaska’s newest attraction, encircling the lake and providing a nice compact gravel surface for walkers and joggers. Much work from community volunteers went into the creation of the trail, including but not limited to Onalaska High School students and staff who helped secure a grant, improve the area and create trail markers containing educational information.
Brand-new restrooms have been built and are now open to the public.
Explore Carlisle Lake or stay a spell to fish, launch a canoe or kayak or just relax!
