Vader’s annual May Day celebration is known across the county as the informal start to the late spring and summer festival season. The festival on the first Saturday in May brings people from across the region together to celebrate rural life with a parade, games and family-friendly entertainment.
Vader is a very important stopover in the annual Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic, with the Vader Lions Club setting up a rest stop and snack station annually. A scenic cycling route through Lewis County runs through Vader, using the state highway out to Wildwood Road and traveling back up through Boistfort.
Vader is also home to Grace Evangelical Church, a historic Methodist congregation that was built in 1902 and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
