The High Pass Challenge is an epic bicycling journey from Packwood to Windy Ridge and back, covering more than 7,500 feet of elevation gain along U.S. Highway 12 and Forest Service roads leading to Mount St. Helens.

The Seattle-based Cascade Bicycle Club has hosted this event since 2007, giving serious cyclists a great chance to get a century ride in — 104 miles, to be exact — and climb some seriously high elevation.

The route begins and ends in Packwood. Organizers have set up the route to be an out-and-back ride, meaning the road back to Packwood will simply be the reverse of the way one came.

Find out more information at Cascade Bicycle Club's High Pass Challenge website. Registration is $80 for non-Cascade members and $70 for Cascade members.
